Meet the Executive Board

Dr. Annette Stokes, MD - President


Dr. Stokes received her Bachelors Of Science Degree from UWM-Milwaukee. She received her Doctorate Of Medicine Degree from Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, NE in 1994.  She also served 6 years in the United States Air Force.  Dr. Stokes has donated her medical services to missions on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation in Browning, Montana and several Third World Countries including Kenya, South Africa and the Haiti earthquake crisis. Dr. Stokes has active memberships in several medical associations.

Dr. Stokes is the sole owner of a successful Family Medicine clinic, Innovative Health Care SC, located in Brown Deer, WI.  She is also the CEO of the Make Me Over Weight Loss clinic.  She also serves as a staff physician at Columbia/St. Mary's and St. Joseph's Hospitals (Ascension Health Corporation).

Dr. Stokes is multifaceted in that she balances a hectic schedule as wife, physician, business woman, First Lady of Temple Of Judah Church, mother, grandmother, sister and girlfriend.

Dr. Stokes believes a life dedicated to Christ with hard work, determination accountability and a good dose of tenacity are the ingredients for a successful, gratifying and rewarding life

Dr. Norman Jensen, MD - Vice President


Norm Jensen MD MS currently works as a Teacher-Clinician at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and Emeritus Professor of Medicine (General Internal Medicine) now 80% retired. His academic specialty is clinical communication skills; he serves as a teaching consultant for the American Academy on Communication in Healthcare, helping clinicians improve their patient experience of care and related outcomes. His active interest in medical racism and health disparities began with a reading of the 2008 AMA formal apology to the NMA for race-based exclusion and consequences. His membership in the Cream City Medical Society is about learning more closely about race-bias in Wisconsin health professions and opportunities for improvement. 

 

 

Dr. Carla Wright, MD – Corresponding Secretary
Dr. Wright is the 2012 Corresponding Secretary of The Cream City Medical Society. Dr. Wright practices Rehabilitation Medicine and Geriatrics at Milwaukee, Health Services Inc. Dr. Wright has been a member of The Cream City Medical Society for over 15 years.
 

Dr. Valeria Hairston, DPM – Treasurer

Valeria D. Hairston, DPM is a practicing Podiatrist (Foot Specialist) in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Hairston graduated from University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1986 and has been in practice for 30 years. Dr. Hairston accepts multiple insurance plans including Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Medicare and Humana. Dr. Hairston is board certified in Podiatry. Dr. Hairston also practices at Mlk Heritage Health Center in Milwaukee, WI.
